She specifically told us not to put it as a question and answer form, she does not want the question to be bold and the answer underneath it, she mentioned that its ok to put headings, ex: “strength and weaknesses”. – in the book, there are a lot of cases, please write about apple or ford.

on this assignment, she made is choose 2 options, I chose option ONE, which is writing about a case study from the book which I attached. I attached under guidelines the questions she wants us to answer in the essay and how many words she wants. she specifically told us not to put it as a question and answer form, she does NOT want the question to be bold and the answer underneath it, she mentioned that ITS OK to put headings, ex: “strength and weaknesses”.
– in the book, there are a lot of cases, please write about apple or ford.
– there’s no need to include a cover page
– NOTE: in the book, there are only the case studies, I deleted the rest of the pages

Essay reminders:

The first six class sessions will require the completion of FIVE small emendations (small essays). These emendations will require researching various secondary and/or tertiary sources (from reputable news sources) and then synthesizing that information into a cohesive, efficient 4-6 paragraph article. Each précis will be due no later than TUESDAY by 3:30 PM (after the class that it was assigned). These emendations can be turned in in-person, sent to my WCC email as an attachment (PDF), or under the assignment tab within Brightspace. Late emendations will result in an automatic deduction of 2% points each day it is late, even if you are absent (maxing out at 8% points off). You can earn up to 25 points on each emendation. Your emendation should contain two to three sources, an enticing introduction, and a cohesive conclusion. Do not worry too much about grammar and spelling in these emendations (though they are still important for a reader to not get distracted). Instead, focus on completing all parts of the assignment with thoughtfulness and care. Your writing goal for each of these emendations is to improve your skills in research and writing cohesion.
This essay/emendation can be written from an argumentative, persuasive, or informative angle. Your opinion should be apparent, but not overbearing, and it should be supported by sources (and/or countered by sources).
While you can choose any topic that allows for an opinion/stance (and 2 to 3 reputable sources), I have found that students who stick to something in recent news and/or the arts have an easier go at writing. Oftentimes, students have chosen to write about a TV series, a book, a film, or something about technology or politics. While those topics have seemed to be the most popular, you can feel free to choose your own topic. Remember, we are going to write 5 of these smaller essays (+ a Midterm that follows the same format, so 6 total).
Due next Tuesday, October 4th, by 3:30 PM.
Essay Reminders:
Make sure you have the correct items in the upper left corner of your paper (your name, my name, class name, and date).
Make sure you have 2 to 3 sources within your essay and that you have correctly included them as in-text citations and within a “Works Cited” page.
Make sure you have a Works Cited page that lists your sources alphabetically and in the proper format.
Double-check the rubric to make sure you are accomplishing all of the requirements.

If inductive, what kind of inductive argument is it? (e.g. enumeration, analogical, higher-level, etc.)

Can you tell the difference? For this activity, search recent news publications, press briefings, or other published media and find one, short example of an argument. This argument can be made by the author of the piece or found in quoted material. (E.g., the article quotes the CEO of Exxon Mobile, who argues ____.”) Then follow the steps:
Click “edit” at the top of this page.
Click “insert” and then “horizontal line” to set your entry off from other students’.
Reproduce the argument you found in standard form – with each of the premises and conclusion indicated separately. (Review chapter 1 and the lecture from Module 2 for a refresher if you need it.)
Include and embed a link to the source.
Then describe and evaluate the argument using the tools we’ve learned over the past 2 chapters.
Is it Inductive?
If Inductive, what kind of inductive argument is it? (e.g. enumeration, analogical, higher-level, etc.)
If inductive, is it sound or unsound reasoning?
Is it deductive?
If deductive, what is its form? (e.g. modus ponens, modus tollens, hypothetical syllogism, etc.)
If deductive, is it valid or invalid?
Identify any tautologies or contradictions that appear in the argument.
